the title is a poem:

the title of this piece is a poem and a story all in one: "what about grace? what about mercy? what about forgiveness?" -self reconciliation, self retribution, self resolve- 30"x48" oil on canvas gallery style canvas ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING Sunflower completed this work of art over the course of summer 2026. This was their sole focus for the summer; and as they painted, they filled 2 journals with healing and processing of emotional wounds. This piece tells the story of some of those wounds, and their healing, layered in the paint and color. You can listen to them tell their full story on their YouTube channel link below, as they talk about the poems and stories that go into this piece. There is no way to truly explain the 2 journals of words that go into this piece, but the image resounds with layers of meaning to the artist and to the viewer. We hope this painting heals you the way it healed Sunflower. NOTE FOR BUYER: this painting is dry to the touch but not fully cured in some of the thicker areas of oil paint.
