Dear froggies,
I recognize I was rageful and disgusted in my first post about this. Rageful about a childhood stolen, rageful about a short lifetime of enduring for a love that didn't want ME back. Disgusted by what I accepted to be "love".
Now, after letting it sit for a few days, I can also be so grateful for myself and every person who has ever endured suffering for love.
Thank you to my ancestors, who endured suffering for love long enough to birth the generations and generations that brought me to the planet.
Thank you to the very specific set of circumstances under which I suffered for love, and yet escaped the suffering into the abundant type of love instead.
Thank you to the people who taught me their ideas of love, and suffered for it, so I don't have to choose to love the same way.
Thank you to every single person who came before me (my ancestors or not) - who brought this planet to where we are today.
Thank you to the figure of Jesus, who taught me how to resist fascism and love disabled people and those in need first. For teaching me about resilience in love for All. (I still have a Jesus special interest as an autistic person, even after people used him as a figure to harm others and myself.)
I will "endure suffering" (that could mean a lot of things though) at some points of my journey to loving my self and the rest of the humans that live here.
I am grateful to know how to create boundaries around myself to protect myself from the suffering type of love. I am grateful to know how to regulate my nervous system so even in fearful and painful and uncomfortable times, I can make myself the safety in the room. I am grateful to endure the suffering of all with all.
I am grateful I have the language to describe different types of love.
I am grateful I have the confidence and courage to go looking for the type of love I want to exist in this reality.
I am grateful that enduring suffering for love taught me how to be resilient in love, and that is something I want to continue to be. Resilient in love, not for the sake of suffering but for the sake of reducing harm for All.
Suffering for Love is a concept I am just NOT done learning about and feeling about.
thanks for reading and feeling with me! Sunflower
